When I make my first million, the first thing I’m going to do is redesign my current two-by-one Ikea vanity to look exactly like the brand spankin’ new Holt Renfrew Beauty Hall at Yorkdale Mall: opulent but understated, swanky yet simple. The Canadian shopping giant has undergone a major reno to launch a 10,000-square foot beauty boutique that’s nearly double the size of its predecessor. Bigger is definitely better.

THE LAYOUT:
Luxe little shop-in-shops—Aesop, Bobbi Brown, Dior, YSL, just to name a few—are scattered throughout the store with the friendliest of faces greeting you at each. To the left, boutiques for four premium skincare brands (La Mer, La Prairie, Sisley and TASK Essential) offer celeb-worthy facials treatments in private suites. As you head toward the back, the heavens open up and (fluorescent) lights shine down to reveal the sacred Chanel boutique: at least double the size of any other hub and featuring endless displays of straight up beauty bliss.

Holts offers complimentary makeup bag consultation with a beauty expert, and free makeup brush cleaning service.
STANDOUT SERVICE:
